Job description

Are you a team player who can connect hydrodynamics with safe naval operations at sea? Do you want to help the maritime industry to design the ships of tomorrow? Welcome on board!

What are you going to do?

You will operate within our Navy team. Your projects will focus on complex time domain simulation of naval operations combining aspects of manoeuvring and seakeeping. Typical application cases include course keeping in extreme waves, launch and recovery of boats, high speed boat operations and unmanned surfaced and submerged operations. You will contribute to development and benchmarking of the underlying tools. This will require excellence in using all type of methodologies available at MARIN (numerical and experimental). You will be involved in all aspects related to your projects: contact with the client, development of proposals, management of project, technical implementation, interpretation of the results, reporting, but also acquisition and new business development.

Who are we looking for?

An enthusiastic candidate with a degree in maritime technology (or similar), experienced in naval architecture and high interest in complex simulation studies. You have good advice, reporting and presentation skills and a high conceptual ability. You should also have an good command of the English language and be willing to learn Dutch if that is not your mother language. You are a team player and able to take initiatives for improvements. You may be asked to participate in a security screening.
